Founder of THE SQUARE BOXING CLUB Martin Dimitrov likes to say the club was originally established in 1983 – the year he was born! However, the THE SQUARE BOXING CLUB was created in 2015, in London. With over 15 years of boxing as an amateur boxer across Europe, winning national boxing titles and a few years of ABA coaching, Martin decided to create something special…
THE SQUARE BOXING CLUB is a lifestyle! A community of people sharing one vision of what real training is! Hard work, there’s no substitute for it.
Arriving in London in 2012, Martin worked as a boxing coach in MMA club 313 fitness studio in East London, where he also coached children classes. A year later he became a boxing coach and personal trainer at Rooney’s Boxing Gym, where he designed and led the class schedule for 3 years, quickly earning him a reputation of one of the best and toughest trainers in London.
As a boxer, Martin still boxes for amateur boxing clubs in London and in 2013, he won the amateur prize fighter tournament “LAST MAN STANDING” in the middleweight division, coached by Richard Williams and Archie Dublin. In 2013, Martin took the position as Head Amateur Boxing Coach for King’s College University in London, and still leads the team today.
Throughout his boxing journey in London, Martin has met a handful of highly skilled and experienced boxers, who he is proud to call friends and work with as part of THE SQUARE BOXING CLUB.
